My doe is more aggressive than my buck

by Nardsadora

My doe is bigger at 2kg than my buck 1.5kg. every time I try mating them, my doe always is the aggressor (I put my doe to buck's cage), she always running to him and kinda biting the tip of his ears.

Can you help me with this. What should I do?

Aggressive rabbit doe

So, your doe is getting after your buck before he has a chance to do his buck-thing? When she chews his ears, is she attacking, or giving love-nibbles?

How long do you leave the two animals together? Does the buck get his chance to come behind her and mate with her?

An aggressive doe, especially one that tries to chase and mount the buck, is frequently a doe that wants to be bred. Her hormones are driving her. Give the two animals time, and she'll settle down and allow the breeding. (Watch that the doe stays on good behavior and doesn't hurt the buck in the process.)

On a rare occasion, because rabbits mate for the long term in the wild, a doe may simply reject a particular buck for no obvious reason and refuse to breed. But put her in with a different buck, and she may be immediately willing. This is very rare, but has been known to happen.

Hope this helps, and feel free to check back with clarifications if necessary.

Good luck and God bless you,
Karen
