NO BABIES YET

My boy and girl rabbit have shared a cage for a couple of months. No babies yet? Is this because they share a cage? Should I separate? Help. I want to be a Grandma.

No, it is not because they share a cage. Cage-sharing is often an excellent strategy for turning yourself into a Grandma.

The problem could be the rabbits. Are you SURE one is a boy and one is a girl? Or, is the buck shooting blanks due to summer's heat? If so, by now it should be quite recovered.

It could also be the season. Autumn is not a great time to be looking for bunnies. Which means that since it is now winter, the two rabbits will probably shift gears any time now.

Go to www.raising-rabbits.com/sexing-rabbits.html, and see if you can diagnose your rabbits' sexes. If you do indeed have one of each, I'd say it's just a matter of time before they produce a litter.

Lastly, now would be a great time to prepare a separate cage for the buck, if you don't have one already. This is because bucks really like to rebreed the doe immediately after she kindles the litter. That would make you a Grandma twice over within the space of 32 days...!
