Rabbit palpated by vet and 35 days post breeding

I have a Holland Lop that is not delivering. I am hopeful that she will deliver them since she is still eating, drinking, urinating and pooping. I know they will likely be dead but I hope the doe pulls through. I took her to the vet on day 33 but he refused to induce her. She made a nice fluffy nest a week ago and she is in a quiet place.

Lavender!
by: Anonymous

If you can find some fresh untreated lavender stems/leaves, feed them to her! Or put 1-2 drops of essential lavender oil (natural, not fragrance oil!) on her feed and feed it to her. Lavender is a natural uterine stimulant for rabbits... (seeing the date of your post, at this point, if she hasn't birthed though, hopefully she'll pass any unborn kits, otherwise she'll likely become sterile).

My rabbit did the same thing. We have lionlops by the way. Though she didn't pull fur, she gave birth... a little later than expected. She hid her pregnancy. They were late. But they were born alive. Now they are dead because they were too weak. Make sure you keep an eye on the nest. Make sure you look under it. Don't wash your hands before you touch the fur! Make sure you always rub the mum (doe) first. If your scent is on it, well she just might give birth in another place. And that place might be dangerous. Anyway, I hope that helps!
